Panama Research and Learning Experience through Penn State CHANCE Summer Embedded ProgramÂ
Two courses: Online and in the field
Global Climate Change: Sustainability of Select Tropical and Aquatic Ecosystems (online; March-May, 2012 ) with a Field Practicum in Panama (July 6-22, 2012).
The first course is online and will prepare participants for actual field work (second course) at field stations run by the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute (STRI) throughout Panama.
Tropical field research in mangroves, sea grasses, coral reefs, and rainforest lead the exploration of biodiversity in habitats being affected by climate change and ways that conservation and sustainable development can improve the global environment.
